Scranton is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Scranton is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot.
